1. Take P.E. your freshman year. Don't think you'll just do it online. It's a joke, and you'll end up doing it the last 2 months of your senior year in MAJOR stress.
2. If you don't like something you're doing, don't do it! It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks if you hate it.
3. Have a good variety of classes with your friends and classes by yourself. You get the chance to meet people on your own.
4. Take classes that you are interested in.
5. Take a full schedule ll through your Junior year. CHECK WITH A COUNSELOR at the beginning of your senior year to make sure you have enough graduation credits before you decide to drop your first and second period. If you do have enough credits, DROP YOUR FIRST OR SECOND PERIOD! You will be much happier throughout the day because you got enough sleep :)
6. Go to bed earlier than I did. School is so fun when you can function and be silly with your friends.
7. Sometimes what mom doesn't know won't hurt her ;) high school is the time to get your sillies out. Have fun with your friends doing pranks and going crazy, but be safe. Don't do anything TOO stupid.
8. Attend as many extra curriculars as you can, and get involved. Especially at games. Stand in the front with everyone and CHEER!
9. Ask to all girls choice dances you can. And go ahead and ask boys you don't know that great. It's the perfect opportunity to get to know a new boy and his friends! Besides, who knows what will come of it ;)
10. Don't have a serious boyfriend for too much of your high school. Make sure your friends still matter when you do have a boyfriend, because when he leaves, it'll be much easier to deal with if you have solid girlfriends that you love to be around!
11. Don't be afraid to speak up. Nobody likes somebody who is quiet all the time, and is afraid to share their opinions.
12. Get your learners permit right when you turn 16 and complete drivers ed with plenty of time before your 16th birthday. It's the best being able to go to the DMV on your birthday and DRIVE YOURSELF TO SCHOOL!
13. Mom and dad know what they are talking about.
14. Don't judge a book by it's cover. People are only stupid until you get to know them!
15. Don't make enemies under any circumstance. They make your high school career a nightmare.
16. Be positive. Stupid english teacher? Lame assignment? After school soccer practice on a friday? Terrible break up? Your positivity will shine above everything.
17. High school is what you make it. If you want it to be fun it will be! But if you want it to be lame, it will also be that.
18. Take advantage of your time here. It will all pass way before you expect it to, and you'll regret ever wasting time, or not having fun all the times you could.
19. Your counselors surprisingly have ALL the answers. Become friends with Momi. She's a great lady and she'll get you through high school. Really, don't be afraid to ask. You'd be surprised what people will do for you if you just ask. And sometimes you don't know all the options, it helps to know ALL the options you have.
20. Dress up on dress up days. Really it makes you a more fun person, and it gives people a conversation starter with you. It'll help you make friends!
21. Don't stick to one secluded group of girls. Spread out and become a part of a lot of groups! That way you will never feel lonely, and you will know so many more people and learn about yourself through them.
22. Be nice! Don't be a gossiping brat. Girls can be mean, but stay out of it as much as possible.
23. You are in High School. Don't try to be somewhere else. Live on it. Thrive on it. This applies to every stage of your life really. Be in the stage you're in. Don't wish you were 5 again, and don't wish you were in college, and don't wish you were married with a new baby. All that will come when you're ready.
24. Don't take things too seriously. Learn how to laugh off teasing and jokes, and even sometimes rude people.
25. Have fun! The best way to have fun is when you aren't stressed out. Work hard and then play. It's not ALL about fun.
26. Take some classes that will help you get into college. AP classes are actually recommended by me, even though I didn't take any.
27. Take an ACT prep class. It seriously sucks bad, and it takes away your life for a month or 2, but honestly it will raise your score. Take it more than once also.
28. Don't lose sight of college. You want to have the option to go to the colege of your choice, even though it seems so far away! You'll be grateful for your good grades when Senior year rolls around and you are prepared and have good grades.
29. Get your senior pictures taken at the BEGINNING of your senior year. You're still tan and you will look nicer :) plus then you don't have to worry about that on top of everything else at the end of the year!
30. Don't go out to eat every meal. You WILL gain weight. You WILL regret it. and you WILL end up on weight watchers with mom before you graduate.
Too bad I don't have a little sister, huh......?
